Maple Pear Smoothie

Updated: Aug 10, 2021

Smoothies have been my go-to breakfast for years now. As a busy working mom they provided the perfect breakfast option when I was on the go: ready in 5 minutes & perfectly suitable for the car.

While my main goal at the time was simply to grab something quick that I could take on the go, I quickly discovered that smoothies perfectly aligned with my philosophy of Eating for Energy.

They are packed with all the right foods our bodies need to thrive. Their balance of nutrients provide long lasting energy and can minimize hunger for hours after. Not to mention they are a great way to sneak some extra veggies into your day (always a good thing in my book!)

Creating new recipes has become a delicious game that sparks a unique joy in me. I love to experiment with different flavors of beautifully colored food combinations and other nutrient rich ingredients. It's my creative outlet and I can't think of a better (or yummier!) way to bring out my creativity!

I am beyond obsessed with the newest flavor combination! I cannot get enough of this unlikely combination that comes together so perfectly. Think dessert - made with only the healthiest ingredients.

I kid you not - this is a must try!

If you love smoothies, if you are looking to increase your energy, manage your cravings or add more veggies into your diet - give this one a go!

Maple Pear Smoothie

1 c. unsweetened almond milk

1 c. water

1 T. flaxseed

1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I like Orgain)

1/2 t. almond extract

1/2 t. cinnamon

1 t. Lakanto Maple Flavor Syrup (or maple syrup)

1.5 c. steamed and frozen yellow squash

1 pear, cored and cubed

Add all ingredients to a high speed blender. Blend for 2-3 minutes until smooth (tamp as needed). Pour top with your favorite toppings and Enjoy!
