Happy Monday! As you get back to work this week - get to work on loving yourself - and your body.
At 40, I feel healthier and more confident than ever before. I don't have a "perfect plan", but I’m grounded in consistent healthy habits that feel good to me - and that's perfect.
And the number one thing that created this in my life was the decision to love myself.
I was tired of the negative self-talk and criticism. It’s so draining to be your own worst enemy - and I recognized that this wasn't how I wanted to live my life. So, I decided to change.
That one decision changed everything for me.
I decided to love my body for what it is and treat it with love - this allowed me to create a consistent routine that fits my life and makes me feel good. A routine that I come back to over and over again because it works for ME.
I decided to love how strong my body is - this allowed me to find joy in movement that reminds me how strong I am. It allowed me to challenge my body when it feels right and rest my body without guilt. It reminds me how much my body works for me every single day - and I love it for that.
I decided that I was going to fuel my body with love - by eating foods that give me energy and makes me feel good - as well as loving myself and my body on the days that are out of my norm - the days when I eat too much or find myself mindlessly eating whatever is around - or when I eat things I don’t normally eat. Instead of feeling guilty and full of shame, I decided I to love myself enough to move - to remember one meal, one day, one weekend is not the end of the world.
When the negative thoughts creep in - I decided I would love myself enough to not believe them. I decided that I can lovingly set them aside and shift my focus to thoughts that make me feel good and inspire me to take actions that make me feel even better.
And let me tell you... it's so much more energizing to love yourself.
It doesn’t mean it’s easy. It takes a lot of practice. A lot of reminding yourself that even when you find yourself criticizing- you can love yourself enough to stop. It’s one decision after another.
And those decisions create a ripple of change.
If you are like me, criticizing yourself has led you to where you are now - feeling unhappy and inconsistent, frustrated with nothing working, tired of the weight coming off only to come back on...giving up on yourself before your ever see what's possible. It's keeping you stuck.
But loving yourself creates change.
And you are just one decision away.
Decide to love yourself today - so you can leave her behind. So, you can start feeling better. So, you can create those consistent healthy habits and feel healthier and more confident than ever before.
Loving yourself is always available to you.
This is the work I do with my clients. This is the work that creates the change they are looking for. This is the work that allows these changes to LAST.
Decide to love yourself today - and if you need some help, schedule a free consultation - we'll talk about where you are, how you can begin this journey of self-love and how I can help you create this ripple of change.
