12 Days of Change - Day 7: sticking with your workouts

You want to workout more in 2023. But you've been here before and you know how that's gone. The New Year kicks off, you feel really motivated. You get up, you go to the gym. You drag yourself there every day - it's working. But as the months go on, your motivation fades. You start to tell yourself: “I don't feel like it today”, “I'm too tired", “I don't have the time”. You skip a day. Then the next day comes and you're still tired - still busy, so you skip another. A week goes by, and you tell yourself you'll get back to it, but you don't - life is busy, you're tired! Judgement starts to set in. “What's the point now? It's been so long - I've already messed up”. “Here we go again - I knew I wouldn't be able to keep it up”. "I'm such a failure. This story feels so heavy…and real. But notice how you're judging yourself. Because life got busy, and things got in the way - you're telling yourself you are a failure and that it's never going to happen. This is the most unmotivating story - and it's not even true. Instead, tell yourself it's worth it - that no matter how busy or stressful life is, movement will make it better. It may be just what you need. Even if it's just 5 minutes - take the 5 minutes without telling yourself it should be more. Let go of judgement and allow yourself to show up in any way you can. Be willing to do it even when you aren't motivated. Most of the time, you're not going to feel like it. You're going to give yourself a million reasons not to do it. Drop those stories and decide to do it - even when you don't feel like it. Be willing to feel the negative in order to experience the positive. Be willing to feel tired and still workout - you'll feel energized when you do. Be willing to feel stressed and still workout - you'll feel calmer when you do. Be willing to be busy and still workout - you'll be more productive when you do. Be willing to not feel motivated and still workout - it will motivate you. That's what it takes to create change - to set the goal to workout more and to actually do it - consistently. It's simple. But it's not always going to feel easy. That's what I'm here for. I support you through it all. Make this the year you actually stick with it. Join me. Together we will make it worth it, even on the hardest days - because you want to. Because it's worth it - and so are you. Click here to schedule a free consultation to get started - for the last time.
